100% Remy Human Hair
Armando's uses only cuticle-correct remy hair. The term "remy" means that the cuticle layer of every strand of hair flows in the same downward direction. This is absolutely critical in order for the extensions to integrate perfectly with your natural hair and remain tangle-free in the weeks after they are applied.

Many other salons and independent stylists may use non-remy hair. Non-remy hair is of lesser quality and "not cuticle-correct". This means that some strands will have a cuticle layer with overlapping cells running one direction, while the cuticle layer of other strands will have overlapping cells running in an opposing direction. Friction is caused when these opposing cells catch and snag on each other. This leads to tangled, matted hair and a great deal of frustration.

Keratin Fusion Hair Extensions
Keratin is actually a protein forming the main structural constituent of hair. When heated it forms a bond with your existing hair.
The strand-by-strand application technique allows the extensins to blend, sway, and move effortlessly with your natural hair. for a style that is breathtakingly beautiful. The extensions are comfortable and weightless. No damaging chemicals, no messy glues, and no uncomfortable micro-links are involved.

Keratin bond extensions allow you to have extra volume and thickness where you want it. You get extra length without having to wait years for your hair to grow, and color without a chemical service. How Long Will Hair Extensions Last?
Because our extensions are created from 100% human remy hair, they will last a long time if given the proper care. Keratin bond extensions can last up to 6 months.

Can I Color my hair if I have extensions?
Yes. If you are planning to get hair extensions and also wish to color your hair, we recommend that you schedule your color service 2 to 3 days before the placement of your hair extensions OR wait 2 to 3 weeks after your extensions are applied.

Do I need to use any Special Type of Shampoo or Conditioner?
To maintain the health of your extensions (as well as your normal hair), we recommend using a high quality, sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Cheap, off-the-shelf brands typically contain sulfates and harsh chemical cleansing agents. The chemicals are damaging not only to extensions but also to your natural hair. A high quality shampoo and conditioner will leave your hair moisturized and silky, in addition to protecting the health of your hair over time.

Do I Need to Wash My Hair Everyday or Can I Shampoo Less Often?
Many of our salon guests find that they can shampoo less often because their hair is fuller than normal after getting extensions. It doesn't get as oily, flat, or unkept as before. Shampooing less often is actually healthier for your hair overall. However, if you workout every day, you can wash your hair daily without experiencing any adverse effects on the condition or longevity of your extensions.

Can I Style my Hair Normally After Extensions Have Been Applied?
Yes. The hair used for our extensions is 100% natural, cuticle-correct, remy, human hair. You can curl, straighten, and dry them just as you would do with your own hair.

Can I Swim in the Ocean or a Pool?
Chlorine and saltwater are damaging to all hair types, including extensions. IF possible, you should avoid getting your hair wet in the pool or ocean. If your hair does get exposed to chlorine or saltwater, shampoo as soon as possible with a gentle, sulfate-free product and follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.

How are the Extensions Removed?
When you are ready to have your extensions removed, the process is fast and easy. We use a special gel to release the keratin bonds. The gel is gentle and non-damaging to your hair. Once removed, the hair can be donated to Locks of Love or Wigs for Kids
